Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra (MVYSO) is now accepting registrations for their beginning strings and debut orchestra programs.
Orientation is Wednesday, Sept. 28. Classes and rehearsals begin the week of Oct. 3. Beginning strings is designed for students who would like to learn to play violin, viola or cello.
Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays at Taylor Creek Church and are taught by April Whyte, MVYSO’s Conductor.
April is also an accomplished violist and orchestra specialist.
Debut orchestra is designed for students with 1-2 years of playing experience. It is open to students who play stringed instruments, brass instruments, percussion instruments or woodwind instruments.
Rehearsals will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Wednesdays at Taylor Creek Church. The church is located at
21110 244th Ave. SE Maple Valley.
Students may audition for MVYSO’s other orchestra groups including philharmonic orchestra (intermediate), symphony orchestra (advanced), and wind and string ensembles (advanced).
