Maple Valley to host town hall and ice cream social

The Maple Valley City Council will hold its annual town hall meeting  at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 at Lake Wilderness Lodge

The meeting will be an opportunity for residents to learn about the Lake Wilderness Park Historical Signs Project and the city’s update to the Comprehensive Plan.

Come enjoy ice cream and cake, meet your community neighbors, and let your voice be heard.

The Town Hall Meeting/Ice Cream Social will be preceded by a brief Council Meeting that begins at 6 p.m. Following the Council meeting will be a half hour social time to enjoy ice cream and cake, celebrating the city’s 16th birthday.

There will also be informational displays. Diana Pistoll, Public Works Program Manager will discuss the Lake Wilderness Park Historical Sign Project and Matt Torpey, Community Development Department Senior Planner, will present information on the city’s Comprehensive Plan Update and how that will affect the city’s vision and economic development. City staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The evening will conclude with the traditional open floor session where City Council members will respond to citizen questions.
