The Rotary Club of Maple Valley received a grant for their homelessness project.
A check in the amount of $13,500 was presented to Colleen Starr, Executive Director of Vine Maple Place. The project, which was spearheaded by Bryan Kelley, Maple Valley Rotarian and owner of Maple Valley Auto, will help those at risk of losing their homes by paying to have their car repaired.
The grant will pay for 80 percent of the repair cost, the auto shop will pay for 10 percent, and the family will pay the remaining 10 percent.
The project will be a joint effort between Vine Maple Place, Maple Valley Food Bank and local auto repair shops.
