Maple Valley was recently honored by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the City’s budget.

Mayor Allison will present the plaque recognizing the City to Finance Director Shawn Hunstock at the Sept. 23 Council meeting.

Hunstock and his staff and cites their dedication to fiscal responsibility and quality communication on behalf of Maple Valley citizens.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area ofgovernmental accounting and financial reporting. It reflects the commitment of the government body and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.
