Maple Valley Food Bank looks for donations for its holiday meal and gift program by Dec. 15

The Maple Valley Food Bank is currently looking for donations for their Christmas Meal and Christmas Gift program.

The Maple Valley Food Bank is still seeking donations for their Christmas Meal and Christmas Gift program.

Pick up a Holiday Meals flyer or Children’s Gift Tag and drop off donations at the Maple Valley Community Center, the Maple Valley and Covington Library, Covington MultiCare and Fire Station No. 80, 81 or 83.

Christmas food and gift donations are needed by Dec.15.

Monetary donations are always welcome for the purchase of bulk and wholesale food and most needed gifts.

Each year, the Food Bank provides local families in need with turkey feasts, complete with the traditional trimmings, to take and prepare at home. Thanks to the generosity of this community, we recently distributed 551 Thanksgiving meals.

In 2010, 1052 children received Christmas gifts selected just for them by their parents or guardians.

Current and prospective clients are welcome to come to the food bank from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Meal and gift distribution is by appointment only.The Food Bank is located at 21415 Maple Valley Highway.
