COVINGTON

Oct.18

FREQUENT FLYER: 16700 block of Southeast 272nd Street. A loss prevention specialist recognized one of the store’s frequent shoplifters as he walked through the store then headed toward the bathroom. He was arrested after trying to leave the store with items he had not paid for.

SMASHING PUMPKIN: 26600 block of 212th Avenue Southeast. A stand alone mailbox on a wooden post was smashed with a large pumpkin.

Oct. 17

GAMER CHICK : 26600 block of 190th Avenue Southeast. A woman known as Deanna snuck into her ex-boyfriend’s house and stole a Nintendo Wii video game console.

ASSAULT: 26100 block of 195th Place Southeast. A 16-year-old boy returned home shortly before noon after being out all night, in violation of his youth at risk status, and when his mother attempted to deal with him, the boy assaulted her, pushing and hitting the woman.

Oct. 16

BURGLARY: 26000 block of 204th Avenue Southeast. Someone walked into a home through an unlocked door and broke into the homeowner’s safe.

Oct. 15

BURGLARY: 20800 block of Southeast 263rd Place. After kicking in the front door of the victim’s house, the burglar stole a pair of laptop computers from the home.

Oct. 13

HARASSMENT: 26100 block of 184th Avenue Southeast. A man violated a domestic violence-related no contact order as well as a protection order when he called his wife multiple times.

Oct. 12

POSSESSION: 26700 block of 66th Place Southeast. After walking away from a collision, a man is contacted by police, found to have a warrant out for his arrest, then found to have drugs in his pockets. He was arrested and booked into the Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Oct. 10

HIT AND RUN: 18000 block of Southeast 260th Street. A pair of teenagers stole a car, crashed it into a parked car in the Timberlane neighborhood, then fled the scene on foot.

MAPLE VALLEY

Oct. 18

FOUND: 26900 block of Maple Valley Highway. A vehicle reported stolen to the Kent Police Department was recovered in the Safeway parking lot after it had been sitting there for a week.

Oct. 16

SHOPLIFTING MOMMY: 26900 block of Maple Valley Highway. A woman with two small children loaded up a grocery cart at Safeway and left without paying for her items.

Oct. 14

VANDALISM: 22500 block of Southeast 275th Place. Someone cut a fence to access Elk Run Golf Course then damaged greens on the course.

Oct. 13

BURGLARY: 22000 block of Southeast 248th Street. Someone forced their way into the Greater Maple Valley Community Center and stole a television.

DUI: Southeast Wax Road and state Route 169. After being stopped for speeding on Maple Valley Highway, a driver was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was charged with DUI then processed by the Washington State Patrol.

Oct. 7

DRUNK DRIVER: 21400 block of Southeast 278th Way. An intoxicated driver side swiped a parked car after driving onto the sidewalk.
