Lynden Awards Annual Scholars to Daniel Lunder

Daniel Lunder has been awarded a scholarship as part of the Lynden Memorial Scholarship program.

The Lynden Memorial Scholarship program has awarded six scholarships for 2013. This year’s awardees will follow a variety of educational and career pursuits. All are children of Lynden company employees and each received a $1,500 scholarship to go toward the 2013-2014 academic year.

Lunder will be a sophomore at Gonzaga University in Spokane this fall where he is studying economics. Lunder was on the President’s list in the fall of 2012, and is on the Gonzaga Division I XL Track & Field team.

“Lynden is pleased to offer this opportunity to the children of our employees,” said Mary Sutherland, who coordinates the application process for Lynden. “On behalf of all our employees, we congratulate Danny and wish him the best of luck with his future studies.”

The number of scholarships awarded, as required by law, is based on a percentage of the applications received. Twenty-four applications were submitted. Review and final selection of recipients is handled by Scholarship Management Services of St. Peter, Minn.

The Lynden family of companies’ capabilities includes truckload and less-than-truckload transportation, scheduled and charter barges, intermodal bulk chemical hauls, scheduled and chartered air freighters, domestic and international air forwarding, international ocean forwarding, trade show shipping, and logistics for the rail industry, remote site construction, sanitary bulk commodities hauling, and multi-modal logistics.
