Construction of the Lake Lucerne Outlet culvert replacement and habitat enhancement project, located at the 26100 block of 220th Place SE, will begin on July 22.
The purpose of this project is to increase conveyance, enhance water quality and fish habitat, and prevent soil erosion. The work includes replacing the existing circular corrugated metal culvert with a larger concrete box culvert, installing downstream grad control log, removing invasive species, and re-vegetating with native species at the Lake Lucerne Outlet Channel. The city anticipates the construction of this project will be completed by no later than August 23.
Emergency and homeowner access across the culvert replacement will remain open at all times throughout the course of the project. Traffic control and notifications will be installed. Residents who live closest to the culvert location will be notified of any scheduled utility interruptions or road closures with a door hanger or letter.
