RECOGNITIONS AND PROCLAMATIONS

–Recognizing Barbara Langdon for her service to aiding the survivors of domestic violence with the declaration of May 23, 2016 as Barbara Langdon Day in King County.

–Recognizing the history, heritage and contribution of all county residents of Asian Pacific Islander descent with the declaration of May as Asian Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month in King County.

–Recognizing the importance of music education and the efforts of Music4Life in providing instruments to low-income students by declaring June as Music4Life Month in King County.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT—Council will hear from the public on issues related to county business

 

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • CONSERVATION FUTURES—Modifying the projects to be financed with the proceeds of the bonds authorized Ordinance 17794 to include the Conservation Futures projects and additional projects (Ordinance 2015-0189).

Monday, May 23- King County Flood Control District –2:30 p.m. ***Special Meeting***

The Board of Supervisors are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

  • INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT—With the City of Kent regarding design

alternatives and property acquisition relating to the Milwaukee II Levee (Resolution FCD 2016-06).

 

Tuesday, May 24 – Government Accountability and Oversight Committee – 9:30 a.m. ***Special Meeting Location*** The committee will meet at

King County International Airport/ Boeing Field, 7277 Perimeter Rd. S., Seattle

o   Airport Master Plan (Briefing No. 2016-B0104).

o   Airport Security Quarterly Report (Briefing No. 2016-B0105).

  • RACIAL DISPROPORTIONALITY AND DISPARITIES – Initial Review of the Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention’s Data and Programs Related to Addressing Racial Disproportionality and Disparities for Juveniles in the King County Criminal Justice System (Briefing No. 2016-B0107).
