Councilmembers will proclaim May 20, 2013 as Congressman Norm Dicks Day in King County.

Monday, May 20

Metropolitan King County Council – 2:00 p.m.

-Councilmembers will proclaim May 20, 2013 as Congressman Norm Dicks Day in King County.

-Councilmembers will proclaim the week of May 19-25 Emergency Medical Services Week in King County.

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

· An ordinance creating the Department of Public Defense within the Executive Branch (Substitute Ordinance 2013-0215.2).

King County Flood Control District – 2:30 p.m.

Supervisors are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

· A resolution relating to the Briscoe-Desimone levee improvement project on the Green River in the city of Kent, and authorizing the chair to enter into an agreement with the city of Kent (Resolution FCD 2013-08).

Tuesday, May 21

Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee – 9:30 a.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

· A motion accepting the King County Metro Transit 2012 Strategic Plan Progress Report (Motion 2013-0161).

· A motion accepting the King County Metro Transit 2012 Service Guidelines Report (Motion 2013-0178).

· An ordinance revising the reporting schedule for annual service guidelines report and establishing a new reporting schedule for the biennial strategic plan progress report (Ordinance 2013-0229).

· A motion related to the transfer of retired vanpool vans to nonprofit organizations and local governments to meet the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled and young county citizens (Motion 2013-0246).

Budget and Fiscal Management Committee – 1:30 p.m.

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

· An ordinance that would submit to voters a proposition to fund county-wide Medic One emergency medical services by authorizing the continuation of an additional regular property tax levy for a six-year period beginning in 2014 (Ordinance 2013-0165).
