Monday, July 20

King County Flood Control District Executive Committee– 9:30 a.m. ***Special meeting location*** Committee will meet in the Southwest Conference

Room, 12th Flr., King County Courthouse

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full Board of Supervisors:

• Resolution to adopt a fund balance policy.

Metropolitan King County Council – 1:30 p.m.

Councilmembers are scheduled to discuss and possibly act on:

• An ordinance providing for the submission to the qualified electors of King County at a special election to be held in King County on November 3, 2015, a proposition authorizing a property tax levy in excess of the levy limitations contained in chapter 84.55 RCW for a consecutive six year period at a first year rate of not more than 14 cents per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation, and limiting annual levy increases to three percent in the five succeeding years, all for the purpose of funding prevention and early intervention strategies to improve the health and well-being of children, youth and their communities (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0177.2).

• An ordinance providing for the submission to the qualified electors of King County at a special election to be held in King County on November 3, 2015, a proposition to add a new Section 265 to the King County Charter, establishing a charter-based civilian office of law enforcement oversight to investigate complaints about law enforcement conduct and the use of force by the King County sheriff and the department of public safety, providing the office with appropriate authority to carry out its duties and establishing a charter-based citizen advisory committee on law enforcement oversight (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0275.2).

• An ordinance relating to a task force to make recommendations on the creation of a King County Immigrant and Refugee Commission (Ordinance 2015-0229).

• An ordinance promoting access to elections for historically underrepresented citizens (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0214.2)

• A motion confirming the executive’s appointment of Patty Hayes as the director of the department of public health (Motion 2015-0228).

• A motion accepting the mental illness and drug dependency seventh annual report (Motion 2015-0145).

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

• A motion relating to the treatment of juveniles for transit violations (Motion 2015-0256).

 

Health, Housing and Human Services Committee – 1:30 p.m.

 

Committee members are scheduled to discuss and possibly recommend to the full council:

• A motion in support of a statewide and national ban on nontherapeutic uses of antibiotics in livestock production (Motion 2015-0222).

• Domestic Violence Housing First Program (Briefing No. 2015-B0124).

• King County Affordable Housing ‑ Needs Assessment and Future Strategies (Briefing No. 2015-B0143).

Budget and Fiscal Management Committee – 9:30 a.m.

• A motion approving a partnership between King County and 4Culture to create a bond financed arts, cultural, heritage and preservation capital program to build, maintain, expand, preserve and improve new and existing cultural facilities (Motion 2015-0288).

 

King County Forecast Council – 11:30 a.m. ***Special meeting***

Councilmembers will discuss and possibly act on:

 

• A resolution adopting the 2016 economic forecast for King County (Resolution KCFC 2015-03).
