Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Myles A. Ortiz, a graduate of Kentlake High School and Black Diamond resident, was recently was promoted to his current rank while with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron One, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Okinawa, Japan.

Ortiz was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty.

Ortiz joined the Marine Corps in July 2011.
