Kent, Tahoma swimmers take home medals from state meet | Boys swim and dive

The 4A boys swim and dive state meet on Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center was a success for individual Kent and Tahoma swimmers.

The 4A boys swim and dive state meet on Friday and Saturday at the King County Aquatic Center was a success for individual Kent and Tahoma swimmers.

Kentridge sophomore Chase Bublitz took home first place in the 100 fly with a time of 50.33 seconds, while Tahoma junior Michael Cox took fourth with a time of 52.46, nearly a three second improvement over his seventh place finish last year. Bublitz also took home a gold medal in the 50 free, touching the wall at 21.16.

Kentlake junior Erik Fulmer took sixth in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:46.47.

He also took seventh in the 500 free with a time of 4:52.05.

Kentwood’s Jesse Denhert took third in diving with a final score of 377.05 points, a 63 point improvement over his performance at last year’s state meet.

As a team, Kentridge placed 11th. Kentlake placed 25th, while Tahoma and Kentwood placed 26th and 30th respectively.
