The recently passed four-year levy allows the Kent School District Board of Directors opportunities to restore programs lost during past budget reductions.

The Board is requesting input from community and staff in two public hearings on April 16 and 22. The Board will also be using a survey tool. The survey results and findings from each of the public hearings will be among the many important factors considered by the Board in making budget decisions.

According to Chief Business Officer Richard Stedry, taxpayer-approved additional dollars available for program restorations will be limited to between $3-4 million per year.

The first public hearing will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on April 16 in the Kent-Meridian High School cafeteria. The second will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on April 22 in the Kentwood gym.
