Wind gust of about 40 mph with sustained speeds of about 15 to 25 mph blew through the area this evening.
Officials from the Kent Fire Department reported a tree blew down on a house in downtown Kent knocking the power out to the home. Early reports were the damage was not severe.
The National Weather Service was reporting on its Web site the winds would continue until about midnight. The service reported the weather system was coming from the coast.
Scattered power outages were reported in South King County.
The forecast for Friday is partly sunny with increasing clouds and a high to 73.
