Health and Wellness Day at the Maple Valley Farmers Market

The Maple Valley Farmers Market features music entertainment nearly every Saturday. Last week Linda Karki and Company entertained with violin music. Performers on violin included Kyle DeVere, Quinnlin Whitman, Katie Borden and Alex Kiefer. Accompanying on guitar was Hank Flatt.

This Saturday the market will host Health and Wellness Day from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Rock Creek Elementary.

In addition to the wide array of local produce, beef, fish, honey, and eggs sold weekly at the Market, this special day will feature a variety of wellness-related visitors and events organized by Donna Kollath, a volunteer for the Farmers’ Market, with help from Allison Scott of Maple Valley Community Center. 

These special wellness-related guests offering a variety of free health and wellness services include: 

• Sonus Hearing, Pinnacle Physical Therapy , Kriss Chiropractic, Life Nutrition Northwest, Tahoma Athletic Club, Dr. Joel Rude, Weatherly Inn at Lake Meridian and United Health Care.

• Multi-Care of Maple Valley offering free blood pressure checks and information on heart health;

• Maple Valley Emergency Services – Offering fire safety tips and tour of fire truck.

Other special events on Saturday include the return of the Tahoma Senior High Speech and Debate team to run the Children’s Activity Center, health and wellness coloring books and face painting for children, and a backpack supply collection drive by Maple Valley Food Bank.  The Valley Girls will work as volunteer staff members for the day.

Entertainment will be provided by the local band Sealth, of Dace’s Rock and More Music Academy in Maple Valley.
