Covington

•Harvest Festival

When: Oct. 25, 2-4 p.m.

Where: Covington Esplanade – Corner of SE 172nd St & 185th Ave SE

What: Trick-or-Treat and visit each participating merchant to fill up a treasure map for a chance to win a prize! There will also be a bouncy house and fluffy bunnies to pet. Bring your canine in costume and they get a treat too!

•Spooky Swim

When: Oct. 25, 5-6:30 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m. (two sessions)

Where: Covington Aquatic Center

What: Lights out, a glowing pool and ghoulish fun await you at the Covington Aquatic Center!

•Halloween Photo Booth

When: Oct. 31

Where: Covington Library

What: Bring your camera and strike a pose at the Halloween photo booth!

Cost: Free

•Hallo-Wee!

When: Oct. 31, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Where: Covington Library

What: Children are invited to come in costume for a special story time. Following story time, there will be a trick-or-treat parade through the library.

Maple Valley

•Haunted House

When: Multiple days, starts Oct. 16 at 7 p.m.

Where: The Den, 22010 SE 248th St

What: Very scary nights are Oct. 16, 17 and 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. & Oct. 23, 24, and 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Less scary nights are Oct. 29 and 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Cost: $10 once through, $12 twice through

•Halloween Party & Movie Night

When: Oct. 17 at 5 p.m.

Where: Greater Maple Valley Community Center

What: Enjoy pizza, a costume contest, cake walk, crafts, dessert and more! The double feature will start at 6 p.m. with Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest followed by Monster House (PG) at 7:15 p.m.

Cost: $5 per person pre-sale, $6 per person at the door

•Things That Go Bump

When: Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

Where: Kentlake High School’s Performing Arts Auditorium

What: The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will hold its first concert of the season. Come hear some fun and somewhat spooky music. Performers will be in costume to add to the festive feel of the event.

Cost: Suggested donation is $5 per person.

•Masquerade Party, Maple Valley Creative Arts Council

When: Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Lake Wilderness Lodge, 22500 SE 248th St.

What: Costume contest and live entertainment featuring musician Michael Powers.

•Trick or Trucks

When: Oct. 31, 4 to 6 p.m.

Where: 22010 SE 248th St

What: A safe and fun family alternative to traditional trick-or-treating! The “big rigs” that children see everyday in their community are parked on our lot for this one special night and children are allowed safely climb, sit on, and explore the vehicles and do their trick-or-treating at the same time. Don’t forget to wear your costume and join us for all the fun and a special Halloween pizza dinner!

What: Celebrate Halloween with a story and craft while learning about creatures of the night like the Okopi and Hissing Cockroaches!
