Green River Foundation’s Painting with the Stars event to benefit school art programs

The fundraiser features artwork created by community dignitaries, business leaders, local artists and ICA volunteer docent.

Green River Community College Foundation’s Interurban Center for the Arts will host its annual Painting with the Stars fundraising event Feb. 27.

The Interurban Center for the Arts provides training, materials and support for arts education in elementary schools. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 at the Lindbloom Student Center on Green River’s main campus in Auburn.

The fundraiser features artwork created by community dignitaries, business leaders, local artists and ICA volunteer docent.

Event attendees can bid on that art as well as donated items like theater tickets, museum and zoo passes, sports items and tours. All proceeds go to benefit the ICA.

The ICA has worked for the past 30 years to support arts education into elementary schools in seven school districts in 12 cities. The organization partners over 400 volunteers with over 14,000 students each year to create over 100,000 art projects.

Tickets are $15 pre-purchased and $20 at the door. For additional information or to purchase tickets, call 253-288-3330.
