Green River Community College earlier this week announced three new high-demand job training programs students can complete in 19 weeks, allowing them to qualify for entry-level positions in the aerospace and advanced manufacturing industry.
Job seekers can attend information sessions at Green River Community College’s main campus in Auburn each Wednesday at 1 p.m. in TIA building beginning Jan. 18. The new short-term day and evening classes will start in March at the Auburn campus.
Part of the funding is allocated for new training machinery, but the school will have new computer numerical controlled machines as well as new state of the art pneumatic and hydraulic training stations.
With several new contracts guaranteeing future work, combined with an aging workforce driving unprecedented recruiting efforts, graduates could see promising opportunities with Boeing and its associated companies.
Green River’s site greenriver.edu/aerospacewill provides additional information about the program.
