Drunk driver attempting to get away hits curb | Black Diamond Police Blotter

25200 Morgan Street. An officer saw a vehicle traveling eastbound with no headlights illuminated at about midnight. As the officer turned around to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated, hitting a curb and driving up on a sidewalk.

  • DUI: 25200 Morgan Street. An officer saw a vehicle traveling eastbound with no headlights illuminated at about midnight. As the officer turned around to stop the vehicle, the driver accelerated, hitting a curb and driving up on a sidewalk. The vehicle then attempted to make a turn into a nearby driveway, but was traveling too fast and slid off the driveway into the grass. The vehicle finally stopped and the female driver was identified by her Washington state driver’s license. The officer noticed several obvious signs of intoxication on the female as he spoke with her. A driving under the influence investigation was conducted. After failing the field sobriety tests the woman was arrested for DUI and reckless driving. The woman submitted to a breath test and was booked into the Buckley jail.
  • During the week of the recent snowstorm, officers investigated numerous accidents. Some of these accidents included a vehicle that lost control due to the ice and snow on Lake Sawyer Road and slid into a utility pole. There were no injuries. A vehicle attempting to drive up Morgan Street near the incline of the hill slid into the nearby creek, almost completely submerging the vehicle. There were minor injuries.
