Cedar Grove Composting, 17825 Cedar Grove Road S.E., is an official collection site for the Maple Valley Food Bank’s back-to-school drive and each person that brings in a donation between now and Aug. 24 will receive 15 percent off bagged or bulk compost and 33 percent off kitchen collection kits.
The Maple Valley Food Bank is collecting school supplies to fill backpacks for students in need.
Food bank staff expect to get 600 requests for backpacks this year.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Maple Valley or Covington library branches, the Greater Maple Valley Community Center, Bank of America, Covington MultiCare, Surfrider Coffee Co., City Perk, Key Bank, Outpatient Physical Therapy, Starbucks at Four Corners and Wilderness Village, Village Coffee or the food bank.
