Delays expected Southeast Courtney Road near Maple Valley | King County Department of Transportation

The work, which is expected to last at least three days, is necessary to fix a failing drainage system beneath the roadway

The King County Department of Transportation is advising motorists that a section of Southeast Courtney Road between Kanasket-Kangley Road and Southeast 311th Street near Maple Valley will undergo emergency drainage repairs beginning next Wednesday, Dec. 10. The work could last until Dec. 24. The work is necessary to fix a failing drainage system beneath the roadway.

This section of Southeast Courtney Road provides sole access for a small neighborhood in the area, so local residents will want to plan ahead and expect lengthy delays at times until the repairs can be completed. The majority of work will occur between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily. Crews will be on site to help with traffic control to provide residents with intermittent access through the work site. The road will remain open during non-work hours.
