Deadline March 29 for online and paper King County voter registration

Monday, March 29 is the deadline for online and paper voter registration applications and updates for King County voters currently registered and persons who are not already registered to vote in Washington state.

There is a special election coming up on April 27tthat will involve about 65,000 King County voters.

“Regardless of whether or not your district is involved in this election, it is still a good reminder to become a registered voter if you’re eligible or update your registration information,” said King County Elections Director Sherril Huff. “Keeping your voter registration information current ensures that we know where to send your ballot and helps us successfully conduct elections.”

Voter registration applications or updates must be postmarked or submitted no later than Monday, March 29. However, if you are registered to vote in King County and miss the March 29 deadline to update your address, you can still vote by contacting our office at 206-296-8683 or by e-mail at elections@kingcounty.gov to obtain a ballot.

Monday, April 19 is the deadline for in-person voter registration at the Elections Department – Tukwila location office for persons residing in King County who are not already registered to vote in Washington.

Using King County’s on-line “Your Voter Guide” feature, voters should double-check their registration information to make sure that their ballot reaches them directly. If you know your address has changed within King County since last November, call or e-mail Elections with your changes at 206-296-8683 or elections@kingcounty.gov .

If you moved to another county within Washington state, you must submit an online or paper voter registration application to that county.
