Organizers of Dark Hollow Haunted Forest promise a suitably spooky experience heading up to and including Halloween. Here’s the lowdown:

• Where: Royal Arch Park in Maple Valley, located at 20821 Renton-Maple Valley Hwy. SE.

• When: It started last night and continues tonight and tomorrow night, plus Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-31. Hours are 7 to 10 p.m. Thursdays and 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The first hour on Friday and Saturday nights is the tamer Family Walk for young children and anyone else who is “tender at heart,” organizers said.

• What: An outdoor trail is the setting for a theatrical production by trained actors with set pieces, sound and light effects. Wear sturdy shoes, as the trail is uneven and may be muddy. The trail is wide enough for wheelchairs; powered chairs or strong helpers are recommended.

• Admission: $9 general, $8 Family Walk. Take $1 off by donating a non-perishable food item (one per person) for Maple Valley Food Bank. Non-profit event is the result of local adult and youth groups, including Masonic Lodge, DeMolay, Eastern Star, Job’s Daughters, Rainbow for Girls and Scout Explorers.
