Colton Huffman, above, outlasted Max Welch in a tiebreaker to recently capture the grand prize in the Cub Scouts’ annual pinewood derby at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center, 256th Street, Kent. Troops 402, 888 and 416 brought their cars to compete in the showcase. In the winner’s circle, Colton said he felt “awesome” in taking first place in a field of 22 participants. Colton is a third-grader at Crestwood Elementary. Joining Colton and Max as finalists were Aiden Jones and Collin Liechty.
