A 40-year-old Covington woman was involved in a head on collision between two vehicles at 1:39 a.m. at the James Street exit off of Interstate 5 in Seattle.

She was injured and has been taken to the Harborview Medical Center.

One person was declared dead at the scene. It is not known which vehicle they were in.

According to a Washington State Patrol press release, alcohol and/or drugs were involved and the case is under investigation.

The press release stated that the Covington woman was allegedly traveling southbound in the northbound lane and struck a Toyota Tundra.

The driver of the Toyota was also injured and taken to Harborview.
