Covington WaterWise Garden Faire scheduled for June 20

The Covington Water District has scheduled WaterWise Garden Faire, from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 20th the WaterWise Demonstration Garden, 18631 S.E. 300th Place, Covington. The garden faire will give people an opportunity to learn gardening tips and find answers to questions.

The garden faire will give people an opportunity to learn gardening tips and find answers to questions.

The event includes garden tours, displays, demonstration booths, plus mini garden seminars. The garden faire highlights ways to develop an attractive landscape while saving the homeowner money and water.

There will be guided tours led by Washington State University Master Gardeners and plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Take part in the mini garden seminars and learn about rain gardens, green gardening tips, native plants and native birds.

At 2 p.m. Tom Watson, the go-green guru of King County, will speak on, “The Frugal Green Gardener – Money-Saving Tips for the Yard and Garden.”

The Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation will have drought tolerant plants for sale. See rain barrels at work and pick up information about installing your own. King County master recycler composters will be on hand to demonstrate and demystify composting.

Door Prizes will be given away throughout the day.

For those who are unable to attend on June 20th, self-guided garden tours of the demonstration garden are available during daylight hours.
