The city of Covington is seeking art enthusiasts to apply for open Arts Commission positions.Arts Commissioners serve the city as advisors to the City Council in matters of art, and coordinate various art programs and events in the city, including the monthly artwork display in the City Hall Art Gallery.

Arts Commissioners also organize the annual Student Art Walk, which includes contacting business owners, inventorying submitted artwork, and creating the exhibit in collaboration with Covington business owners.

At the Covington Days Festival, the commissioners organize the Covington Days Art Show, which is available for public viewing, and includes a reception to kickoff the event.

Questions regarding the Arts Commission may be directed to Parks and Recreation Director Scott Thomas at sthomas@covingtonwa.gov.At this time, the positions are only open to someone living or working inside the Covington city limits.

Positions are open to adults or youth (who must be between the ages of 14 and 18 at the start of their term).

The Commission currently meets at City Hall the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. If you or someone you know has an interest in serving the city in this capacity, please refer him or her to the attached application form.
