Covington is accepting nominations for its 2008 Citizen of the Year and Honorary Citizen of the Year awards.
The award recipients, who are selected by the City Council, must have worked to better the city and the lives of Covington residents during the past year. They must have contributed to the community in a positive manner in activities supporting the city’s vision statement, officials said.
Nominees for Citizen of the Year must be a resident of the city. Nominees for Honorary Citizen may be non-residents.
Nomination forms are available at City Hall, the Covington Chamber of Commerce, the Covington Library and from the city’s Web site (www.ci.covington.wa.us). The deadline for submitting nominations is June 19.
