Covington City Council voted unanimously in favor of adopting a resolution to support the King County Veteran’s and Human Services Levy at their Tuesday, July 12 Council Meeting.

“Our city has been dedicated to these services and we have increased our participation even in these hard times,” said Councilmember Jim Scott.

The proposed levy renewal authorizes a continuation of the 2005 levy to fund veteran and human service programs in King County. It will be on the ballot for the August 16 Primary Election.

The levy has served over 82,000 King County clients from 2006 to 2010 and the renewal would generate $16 million annually for the next six years.

The average household investment would  be $17 per year.
