Colonel retires after 34 years of military service

Colonel Thomas Molloy, a Covington resident since 2002, retired from the United States Army Reserve on July 1 after 34 years of service, including 11 years of active duty.

Colonel Thomas Molloy, a Covington resident since 2002, retired from the United States Army Reserve on July 1 after 34 years of service, including 11 years of active duty.

Colonel Molloy commanded an Army Reserve unit in Seattle for 40 months from 2005-2008. Colonel Molloy next served as a Reserve Military Judge for five years.

In a retirement ceremony at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on June 16 Brigadier General Jack Nevin presented Colonel Molloy with the Legion of Merit.

Thomas Molloy has been a federal prosecutor since 1991. He is married to Catherine Molloy who teaches at Crestwood Elementary. They have four children who have attended Kentwood High School.
