Black Diamond Miners Day to be held July 9

Black Diamond will be celebrating its annual Miners Day on July 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Black Diamond will be celebrating its annual Miners Day on July 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will include booths, a chili cook off, a 5K race, a community garage sale, a beer garden and live music by the Stan Terell Band.

There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the restored train at the Black Diamond Historical Society. Attending will be Mayor Rebecca Olness and the children who selected the exterior color and name, “The Black Diamond Express.”

Railroad Avenue will be closed to traffic during the celebration. A small portion of the street will be available for local businesses only.
