Black Diamond man charged with murdering his mother found not mentally competent to stand trial

The King County Superior Court released findings Oct.14 Cecil Douglas Walker is not mentally competent to stand trial for the stabbing death of his 86-year-old mother, Ella May Walker, in Black Diamond. The 50-year-old Cecil Walker has been sent back to Western State Hospital for a 90-day mental evaluation according to the King County Prosecutor's office. He is scheduled to return to court in January 2011.

The 50-year-old Cecil Walker has been sent back to Western State Hospital for a 90-day mental evaluation according to the King County Prosecutor’s office. He is scheduled to return to court in January 2011.

The prosecutor’s office asked for a mental evaluation of Cecil Walker at the superior court Sept. 14 arraignment hearing. He was charged with first degree murder for the Aug. 27 death of him mother.

Cecil Walker is accused of using a 12-inch knife to kill his mother while she sat in her recliner at her home in Black Diamond.

He is in being held on a $1 million bail.
