A power line leading to the home was on the ground creating an additional hazard.

Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside of the home and did not enter the house because of the size of the fire fire and safety. A tree behind the house caught fire, but the crews did spray some water on a trailer to try and keep it from burning. One fire crew stayed on scene to prevent a fire from rekindling. The American Red Cross was called to help the family. The fire is still under investigation but the home was a total loss.
