BICYCLIST HIT: Southeast 288th and 216th Avenue Southeast.
A vehicle was traveling southbound on 216th Avenue at 9 a.m. approaching Southeast 288th. The driver turned left on southeast 288th and stated he did not see the bicyclist who was traveling northbound on 216 Avenue S.E. The bicyclist was hit and transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver was cited for failure to yield and no proof of insurance.
SHOPLIFTING: 29100 block of 216th Avenue S.E.
Officers were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. to a business for a recent shoplift that had occurred. Two 15-year-old male juveniles had stolen two packs of gum. Juveniles were made to pay for the gum and released to their parents. Both were trespassed from the business.
March 12
MINOR UNDER THE INFLUENCE: 224th Avenue.
A vehicle was stopped at 11:30 p.m. for not having the rear license plate illuminated. The officer contacted the vehicle with three male occupants. Upon contacting the driver, a 17-year old male, the officer noticed a strong odor of intoxicants from the vehicle. The driver stated he had not been drinking. The center passenger, a 17-year-old male, stated he was the only one to have been drinking. The driver was not able to provide registration or proof of insurance. The officer had the driver do field sobriety tests, which he was not able to pass and failed the breath test. His breath test reading was .030/.029. The passenger failed the breath test also and was cited with minor in possession and failure to wear seatbelt and released to his parent. The driver was cited for minor driving under the influence and No Proof of insurance and failure to notify the department of licensing of an address change. He was released to his parent.

SUSPENDED LICEnSE: 29200 block of 216th Avenue.
At about 9:30 p.m. a male driver was stopped and cited for driving while license suspended in the third degree and no valid vehicle insurance. His vehicle was impounded and he was given a courtesy ride home.
March 10
SUSPENDED LICENSE: courthouse. The court security officer heard a male yelling and using profanity outside the court room window. An officer found two males in a vehicle, the driver reaching over and hugging the passenger. The passenger had blood on his face. When questioned about the yelling, the driver said it was him and he was yelling at his girlfriend to come pick him up. The passenger was slumped over in the vehicle and upon contact, a strong odor of alcohol was detected and he showed extreme signs of intoxication. When questioned about the blood on the passenger’s face, the driver explained that the passenger had been angry at the judge because his wife had to go to court and slammed his face into the dashboard. The passenger was checked out by the fire department emergency personnel and transported to the hospital for his injuries. The driver, who claimed he had not driven to the court house, but was waiting for someone who was in court, had a suspended license in the first degree. He was advised to call for a ride and not to drive the vehicle. The officer then left because he had another call, but upon return noticed the vehicle was gone. He was able to access video surveillance tapes that shows the driver get into the vehicle and driving away. The driver was cited for driving while license suspended in the first degree.

DOMESTIC: Terrance Place. Officers were dispatched to a verbal domestic in progress along Terrace Place. Upon arrival, the mother advised the son had just left on foot. An officer en route to the home saw the 19-year-old male walking and made contact. They were advised there had been a verbal altercation and the son left before it escalated. After learning there were no threats made or physical altercations, the male was released.
SUSPICIOUS MAN:32500 block 3rd Avenue.
At approximately 5 p.m. a child riding his bike reported a black man in a black truck with a red stripe pulled up beside him and stated “get in”. The child got off his bike and waked to a friends house. He waited approximately 30-40 minutes before leaving to go home.
