Fire Prevention Note

Ashes from cigarettes, barbecues and fireplaces may contain enough heat to start a fire even after several days. Ashes should be soaked in water or placed in a noncombustible (metal) container with a tight fitting lid for a week; they may then be placed in the trash. Hot ashes should never immediately be disposed of in the trash or placed in cardboard box or paper grocery bags. This may sound obvious however it happens far too often.
