Corner of Love’s third annual Winter Dreams dinner auction and gala, a fund-raiser for the Maple Valley-based Christian organization’s mission work in Nicaragua, will be staged next Friday.

The event at Spirit of Washington Event Center in Renton will include a silent auction at 4 p.m. that’s open to the public and the ticket-only gala at 6:30 p.m.

Last year’s event drew 300-plus guests and raised more than $80,000

All proceeds will benefit efforts in San Ramon, Nicaragua. The mission includes construction projects, medical and dental service, family sponsorships and educational aid.

“Over 9,000 people received treatment from our teams in the northern villages of Nicaragua this year,” said Tanya Amador, Corner of Love Ministries’ executive director.

Mission volunteer Beth Bentrott, a Maple Valley resident, said her time in Nicaragua “was life-changing. It made me think a lot about life’s purpose. I’m looking forward to returning again next year,”
