Let’s focus on their newest beetroot powder supplement, SuperBeets® Heart Chews Advanced. This product claims to be a 3-in-1 blood pressure support supplement. It contains beetroot powder, grape seed extract, and coenzyme Q10. Along with two types of added sugars and a few other ingredients to make the capsule.

For a product that claims to be “Advanced,” SuperBeets® Heart Chews Advanced contains an astonishing lack of ingredients. We expect to see at least ten ingredients in an efficacious blood pressure supplement.

It’s not that the ingredients they’ve included are flawed – beetroot, grape seed, and Q10 all have health benefits that can lead to lower blood pressure and better heart health when supplied to the body in the right quantities – but SuperBeets only offers 500mg of beetroot powder, 150mg of grape seed extract, and 100mg of Q10.

We like 500mg of beetroot extract instead of powder as it effectively reduces blood pressure. The extract is more potent and contains more nitrates, which the body can convert into nitric oxide. By using an extract, the 500mg of beetroot powder could become the equivalent of 2g of beetroot—a much more effective dose.

Moreover, while grape seed extract can lower blood pressure, it works by thinning the blood, which is not always the safest method of achieving normal blood pressure. We prefer products that increase nitric oxide production and availability. Ingredients like beetroot extract, folate, olive leaf, and garlic powder are very effective and can decrease blood pressure without any risk of side effects.
