Grand affair coming to Maple Valley

Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will be presenting “A Grand Affair” Waltz Gala Ball 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Olson Mansion, 21401 244th Avenue SE.

This event promises to be a fun and elegant way to celebrate Valentine’s Day locally.

The idea for this event was conceived during a brainstorming session with orchestra students. Since its conception parents, students and orchestra leaders have worked hard at making this elegant evening a great success. The evening will include an Italian dinner, a no-host bar, Marble Slab Ice Cream Sundae Bar (additional cost payable at event), raffle, professional ballroom performance by members of Pacific Ballroom Dance Co., professional waltz instruction by members of the Pacific Ballroom Dance Co. and live dance music performed by your Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Dance music will include popular waltz pieces by Johann Strauss such as Blue Danube as well as others.

“We hope to make this a Maple Valley tradition” says Elisa Lewis, the youth symphony’s executive director.

The cost for each ticket is $50 with all proceeds going to support the Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Dress is black tie optional.
