Covington, King County to offer free or low-cost recycling this Saturday

For residents wanting to get rid of old reyclables, the city of Covington has a free or lower-cost alternative to a trip to a transfer station.

For residents wanting to get rid of old reyclables, the city of Covington has a free or lower-cost alternative to a trip to a transfer station.

The city and King County will host a recycling collection event Saturday at Kentwood High School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Some items will be accepted free, while others have a small fee (cash only), officials said. Acceptable items include tires, motor oil, antifreeze, lead acid batteries and household batteries, porcelain toilets and sinks, propane tanks, wood, appliances, scrap metal and electronic equipment.
