Vote yes for Tahoma School District bond to keep schools at the top | Letter

In our wonderful Tahoma community we are fortunate to have one of the best school systems in our state and students that work hard to achieve the vigorous standards. The truth is, though, that our schools are full and the enrollment in Tahoma will continue to grow over the next 10 years, to a point that we will be beyond our physical capacity to house students in a safe learning environment.

The reason Tahoma is one of the top schools is that the students in Tahoma have the full realm of educational opportunities. But when there is overcrowding those same opportunities will not be available to our students.

As more students come, programs such as advanced placement, vocational education, and elective courses will diminish which are critical components to the quality education that students receive in Tahoma, which in return provides them with the skills needed for life beyond high school.

When students can participate in school paths that include courses of personal interest it creates the wonderful learning environment that is Tahoma schools and I do not want to see that environment diminish.

Please VOTE YES for Tahoma students.
