Gerken an effective leader
I recently met Noel Gerken, mayor of Maple Valley. I was impressed by his great enthusiasm for public safety and recapping all of the great work and progress the city has made in recent years.
I have lived in Maple Valley for almost 20 years. In the last couple of years I have seen the city become more open and welcoming. We have four new badly needed police officers to continue to keep our community safe, new businesses moving in to our city, which is good for the residents shopping here, drawing from other cities, and for more tax revenue, a fun farmers market, award winning schools, a beautiful Lake Wilderness lodge and park, and affordable new homes for young families to re-locate to our amazing community.
This isn’t happening all by itself, it takes people who work hard and believe in what they are accomplishing to make our city one of the 10 best in the United States.
I also met Deputy Mayor Victoria Jonas many years ago. She gives so much of her energy and time such as starting up the farmers market, serving on the food bank board, and any other projects she can find to give a helping hand too.
People like this are selfless and caring in their work to make the city a great place to live, work, raise children and retire.
Noel Gerken is an effective and experienced Maple Valley City Council member. He understands our community’s needs and concerns and has a proven track record of fighting for our priorities. During these tough economic times it is more important than ever to have proven leadership you can trust representing you on the City Council.
I fully support re-electing Noel Gerken to the Maple Valley City Council. As his slogan says “Keep Gerken Workin’.”
