I am writing to endorse Bill Woodcock for Maple Valley City Council. Besides being our home, our city is a business and needs to be run like one. The city had current assets of $16,450,963 on Dec. 31, 2010, down $1,594,388 from one year before. While not being in as dire of straits as many other cities, we still have room for improvement.
There are many strengths within our City Council but one area I believe it could be made stronger is in the area of business experience.
Bill would bring that experience as someone who has signed both the front and back sides of a paycheck. He has started and built up successful businesses in our community.
Besides being a business owner, Bill is a very involved community member. He has volunteered countless hours to serve on governmental committees such as the city’s Planning Commission and chairman for the Legacy Site. He has served the community by founding such programs as Make a Difference Day.
In getting to know Bill over the years, I know his integrity to be great and his love of community to be immense. Bill has prepared to take on a leadership position like this and Maple Valley will be the beneficiary of his business experience and community service.
