Bill and I are excited to be endorsing Karen Crowe for City Council Position No. 5. Here’s why.

From my personal experience working with Karen on the chamber board, I can tell you she will bring energy and commitment to her council position. Karen leads by example. She is organized, focused and determined which makes her a great problem solver and thoughtful deliberator. She asks tough questions, seeks clear and concise information and respects the opinions of others. As a member of the chamber’s board of directors, she has participated in many animated conversations and debates. I have been on both sides of those debates but no matter the outcome, the issues were debated and the differences left in the board room.

Everyone comes out feeling valued and included. Karen will bring all those skills to the council and the community at large.

As long time business owners in this community, we want someone who understands the challenges of small business and the importance of a healthy business community. Our local businesses generate substantial revenue that supports city services and amenities that residents demand. Healthy small businesses also provide jobs within the community. We need a strong voice on the council that encourages local businesses to grow and invest right here.

We also have a lot of respect for Karen’s remarkable strength and steadiness while coming under personal attack in this campaign. She has stuck to debating the issues without attacking her opponent personally. She has far too much respect for the individual circumstances of someone else’s personal life and how personal attacks can affect the entire family.
