On Saturday, Nov. 14 comedians John Keister (Almost Live), David Crowe (Showtime) and Joe Larson, performed BREAST Damn Comedy Show Period! at Druids Glen Golf Course. The comedians graciously donated their time and talents, which raised $2,300 for my three-day Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer walk.

I’m on the Valley Girls and Guys three-day breast cancer team. Last year our team had 59 team members and raised a little over $140,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. That amazing amount of money was raised under the guidance of our fearless leader and team captain, Tina McDonough. In addition to the $2,300, Saturday night’s event also raised $4,000 for David Crowe’s sister, Kathy. Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 months ago and is currently undergoing chemo for the cancer.

Druids Glen’s staff did an amazing job accommodating everyone’s dinner and drink orders. We had 256 people enjoying the show in Druids Glen outdoor pavilion. Even though the headers were on full blast, it was a bit chilly, however as true Northwesters we braved the temperatures to enjoy two hours of comedy!

The Fire Creek Grill at Druids Glen donated 5 percent of their dinner and drink sales to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Jennifer Leverton, Fire Creek Grill’s Food and Beverage Manager was a delight to work with. She agreed to host the event a week and a half before the big day. Jennifer is a hard worker and was always there to answer my questions.

Thanks again to the comedians, the staff at Druids Glen and everyone who braved the temperatures and attended the comedy show. With everyone’s help the BREAST Damn Comedy Show Period was a huge success.
