The Maple Valley City Council endorses Tahoma School District’s construction bond Proposition 1. We encourage our citizens to become informed and to vote on this proposition on Nov. 5.
Maple Valley has been nationally ranked as an excellent place to live and raise a family. A primary component of that ranking is the quality of our schools. This bond proposition ensures our schools will have enough space for students into the next decade. Upgrades will enhance student safety and health. A strong school district maintains high property values. This creates a healthy economic climate in our city.
The school district’s innovative plan for a regional learning center has the potential to create economic vitality by bringing in apprenticeship and other career development programs, green manufacturing and other new businesses. This creates the opportunity for commercial growth and jobs in our city.
Economic sustainability continues to be a primary goal of the city. This proposition helps provide the foundation to meet that goal while also providing enhanced educational opportunities for students and our community. Supporting this bond supports our city. Vote ‘yes.’ Please go to www.tahomasd.us to learn the facts.
