June 26 will be the first day of business for Home Depot’s new store in Covington.
In an announcement today, officials of the home-improvement retailer said the store will host a dedication ceremony June 25, with local elected officials and business leaders participating. Home Depot will also formally present a $2,000 donation to a non-profit organization.
When the store opens to the public the next day at 6 a.m., it will include kitchen and bath showrooms, an expanded lighting department only found in the company’s newer stores, a home decor section, services for installation and professional contractors, tool rentals and an outdoor garden center.
The 100-employee store is part of Covington Esplanade, a new commercial center. The development’s other major tenants include a Red Robin restaurant, which is scheduled to open June 16.
Home Depot has a combined 2,260 retail stores and 300,000 employees in every state of the U.S. plus Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, China, U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam.
