After hosting meetings in Fall City, Bellevue and Kent, the Metropolitan King County Council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee will hold its last special night meeting.

After hosting meetings in Fall City, Bellevue and Kent, the Metropolitan King County Council’s Budget and Fiscal Management Committee will hold its last special night meeting to take public comment on the County Executive’s proposed 2015-2016 King County Budget at the King County Courthouse:

The meeting will be carried live on King County TV, seen on Comcast and Wave Cable Channel 22.

The Budget Committee, which all members serve on during the review of the proposed budget, met with the public at Chief Kanim Middle School in Fall City, Bellevue City Hall and the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent. Over the last three weeks a total of 90 speakers have addressed the committee about the County’s first biennial (2015-2016) budget.

Committee members have heard from speakers about budget priorities that included funding for keeping public health clinics open and services for young offenders, economic development, assistance for public defense, and continuing funds for programs that help survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
