This month’s Leadership Council meeting focuses on the future of Puget Sound recovery with discussions on a shift in Environmental Protection Agency funding for the Puget Sound National Estuary Program as well as the development of the 2016 Puget Sound Action Agenda.
The council meets from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, March 27, at the General Administration Building Auditorium, 210 11th Ave. S.W., Olympia.
Agenda highlights include:
- A discussion on the new EPA funding model for the Puget Sound National Estuary Program including how it differs from the old model, how partner roles will change, and how the Partnership intends to implement this new model.
- An update on the development schedule and process for the 2016 Puget Sound Action Agenda.
- A discussion on the current status of sea star wasting disease as well as the effects of disease on species viability, connections to human health, and implications for protection and restoration actions.
