Lake Wilderness Arboretum’s Little Free Library is now registered with LittleFreeLibrary.org and will soon be mapped on the organization’s World Map of Little Free Libraries.
To recognize and thank those who selflessly gave their time and talent to building and coordinating this project, the arboretum’s Little Free Library now displays a brass plaque in their honor. The inscription reads, “Built and Donated by Robert and Pam Soushek and Charles Benedict.”
Robert Soushek, a life-long member of the Maple Valley community, milled the log for the structure at his own saw mill. He also enhanced the design of the library by planting a fern atop the structure. A local developer of golf courses, Robert is acquainted with the parents of Charles Benedict, who also donated to the arboretum’s Little Free Library project and acts as its steward.
Lake Wilderness Arboretum’s Little Free Library is filled with books that explore the flora and fauna of the area. It is conveniently located right next to the arboretum’s memorial bench, a perfect place to sit and read one of its books.
